We all have our own particular way of celebrating New Year and not all celebrate with drinking sessions down at the pub. Walking groups, Mother Earth believers and the curious begin the climb to the nearest large hill before dusk in Yorkshire to watch the sun appear over the horizon at dawn. Go armed with warm clothing, flasks of hot drinks and a hip flask or two to ward off the cold.
However, if you are of the opinion that this motley crowd of hill climbers are all barmy, by all means celebrate New Year at the pub,at a dinner dance at a Yorkshire hotel or within your own cosy Yorkshire cottage with friends. At least you can accommodate for dogs if you have a private party at a 'dogs welcome' holiday cottage, which makes the event easy, comfortable and less hassle all round.

Most large towns up and down the country have reams of happy revellers celebrating the New Year in the pubs, at firework displays and at friends home in front of the television. People are generally very good natured before midnight and are likely to kiss each other as the champagne corks pop or Newcastle ale cans fizz open.
