Kids love Kidzplay Northallerton, an indoor play centre that opens seven days a week. This fun centre provides a wavy slide, football court, ball pools and ride-ons and nutritious meals are served in the restaurant. Grown-ups and kids both love the romantic allure of the steam train and holidaying in the Northallerton area gives you access to the Wensleydale Railway. This heritage railway is a family favourite. It’s one of the longest lines of its kind in the country, and you can see 16 miles of Dales scenery, from Leeming Bar to Redmire. You can take your dog on board too for a small charge (support dogs travel for free) and there is a family ticket. Special events on the railway include family fun events, open days, guided walks and even ‘murder mystery’! A really special treat is the opportunity to learn to drive one of the Diesel Multiple Units, as part of driver experience sessions.
