The Mammal Centre brings you close to meerkats and wallabies. The Bird of Prey Centre runs various courses of different lengths for anyone interested in learning more and actually working with the falconers and handling the birds.
Dogs are also allowed, on leads, at the Himalayan Garden & Sculpture Park at nearby Grewelthorpe. Twenty acres of woods, valleys and lakes is the backdrop to beautiful floral displays that include rhododendrons and magnolia.

Bedale Museum is housed in Bedale Hall and its treasure trove of exhibits includes wartime artefacts, tools, agricultural implements and displays on cheese and butter making. However, the highlight is a wooden, hand-drawn fire engine from 1748.
